Care

When someone asked Jesus to list the greatest commandment, he said “'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:37-38).
Our goal is to share God’s love with one neighbor at a time, so all may belong.

Our Caring Ministry includes:

Communion to shut-ins - Our pastor or volunteers are happy to bring communion to those who are homebound.  Please call the church office at 281-346-1416 to make arrangements or volunteer.

Hospital visitation - If you or someone you know would like a visit while you are in the hospital, please let us know.  We have groups of lay people, as well as our pastor who are willing to visit you in your time of need.  Please call the church at 281-346-1416 when you hear someone is in the hospital.

Prayer Support - Perhaps you are having a tough time and need someone to support you in prayer.  We offer weekly opportunities for you to list your prayer requests on registration pads during the Sunday services, or you may contact Janis in the office at 281-346-1416. We would be happy to put you on the prayer list.

Stephen Ministry - If you are going through a difficult time and desire one-on-one listening and prayer support, maybe a Stephen Minister is right for you.  To learn more about this confidential caring possibility, contact the church at 281-346-1416.

Al-Anon/Alateen - Al-Anon (which includes Alateen for younger members) offers strength and hope for friends and families of problem drinkers.  It is estimated that each alcoholic affects the lives of at least four other people.  Alcoholism is truly a family disease.  No matter what relationship you have with an alcoholic, whether they are still drinking or not, all who have been affected by someone else’s drinking can find solutions that lead to serenity in the Al-Anon/Alateen fellowship.

** Willow Falls Apartment Complex Mission Work, $10

We go to Willow Falls Apartment complex on a regular basis to share the love of Jesus with families.  We have met people from Ethiopia, Iran, Burma, and the Congo.  We share with them our American culture, the English language, and our desire to learn about them and to love them.  Money is needed to help pay for supplies.  On our last visit, a sweet little boy came up to us as we were leaving and asked if we would bring him a Bible on our next visit.

WILDFIRE DONATIONS REQUESTED

Our church has been asked to collect items for the families displaced by the wildfires which have devastated some nearby communities.  A command center has been established at First United Methodist Church of Pattison to directly supply the families in need due to the fires.  If you would like to donate items, you may bring them by the church, and we will see that they are delivered to the church in Pattison.

Some of the items needed are baby diapers, essential toiletries, dog and cat food, children's coloring books and crayons, nonperishable food, bottled water, and wash cloths.  If you would like to make a monetary donation, you may bring your checks, made out to FUMC-Fulshear and with "Wildfire Relief Fund" on the memo line, by the church office.  Please consider extending your support to those in need.
