It’s his passion for connecting people of all ages and backgrounds into the experience of worship that most defines Bodie’s ministry to our congregation.  Through his leadership of The Chancel Choir, The Chancel Bells, Converge Youth Worship Arts, and children’s music activities, this passion is easily visible.  Bodie also serves as the principle cantor and congregational worship leader, collaborating with the pastor and worship committee, seeking to bring a sense of cultivated relevance and dynamic expression to the timeless message of the Church.

With a heritage of Christian calling, Bodie served alongside his father and mother who led churches throughout Texas.  During his years in college and seminary, Bodie was actively involved in local church leadership in all areas.  In addition to an early commitment to Christian service was also a commitment to musical excellence.   He is regional known for his solo artistry, having appeared in principle rolls with the Baylor Opera Theatre, a featured soloist with the Waco Symphony Orchestra, and other venues.  Other notable and varied activities include liturgical musicological research published with a national journal of church history, a recent clinician with the Alleluia! Many Voices, One Song conference, and a studio recording with Word Music-Nashville in contemporary Christian music.  With a love for the tradition of choral music in the local church, Bodie's approach seeks to blend strong vocal pedagogy with a base of stylistically diverse literature.  

Aside from his work in church music and ministry, Bodie’s hobbies include enjoying beaches, hiking, snow skiing, and spending quality time with friends and family.

Bodie holds the Bachelor of Music in Church Music and Master of Music in Church Music degrees from Baylor University and the Master of Divinity degree from George W. Truett Theological Seminary.

Children’s Director

Mrs. Katie brings to our children's program a dedication to helping children learn about God's love and a desire to partner with their parents to build a stronger spiritual foundation within families.  After graduating from Western Michigan University in 1991, she worked as an elementary Special Education teacher in Georgia and Florida and an Early Interventionist in Tennessee.  She and her husband, Steve, live in Katy, Texas, with their three children, Kyle, Kaylee, and Keelin. Mrs. Katie joined our staff in June 2010, loves children, and loves being our Children's Director.

 

Administrative Assistant

Our devoted Administrative Assistant, Janis, has been a resident of the Fulshear area for twenty-three years, attended our church for twenty-one years, and worked for the church for thirteen years.  If you want to know something about the church, asking Janis is a pretty good idea.  Also, if you want to know something about Elvis Presley, Janis probably has the answer.  Not only does Janis love her job at the church, but she enjoys it too!  Over the years, she says her job has made her stronger in all aspects of her life and has shown her she can do a lot more than she thought she could.

Janis is blessed with a family of three daughters, two of which are twins, and two grandchildren. 

Pianist/Organist

Kingchi holds the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance from the University of Houston Moores School of Music.  In addition to her doctoral studies in music, she was inducted as a member of Pi Kappa Lambda, the prestigious National Music Honor Society of the United States.  She also holds the Certificate of Distinction in Pianoforte Performance from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in UK and the Distinctive Licentiate Performer in Pianoforte from Trinity College in UK.  She is a former recipient of the music merit scholarship from Moores School of Music and served as a teaching fellow there, conducting undergraduate piano classes.  

She is known both as a performer as well as an educator.  Over the years,  she has been invited to present solo programs at educational institutions and music organizations as she appears frequently in performances with instrumentalists, vocalists, choirs, and new music ensembles.  She has also appeared as a soloist with the Moores School Chamber Orchestra.  Kingchi is an experienced music instructor.  Her teaching background includes work at private institutes, community colleges and two universities, and has worked with students of all ages, at different levels, and from diverse backgrounds.  She has held teaching positions at colleges in the Houston area for over ten years and has chaired committees in prominent music education associations since 2001.  She also has served as director and instructor at summer piano camps since 2006. 

Well recognized of Kingchi is her dedication to the art of teaching and to the art of performance—a fundamental commitment to excellence which is displayed gloriously through her work as a church musician.

Early Learning Center Director

Lynn holds the bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University and also an associate's degree in Accounting.  As a former public school educator, she is certified with the Texas State Board of Education in Early Childhood learning and has over five years’ kindergarten teaching experience with LCISD.   Lynn is a longtime resident of Fulshear and is a devoted wife and mother of three sons.
